Today is Earth Day, and I don’t think we’re treating Earth all that well. I thought a lot about what picture might represent my feelings about Earth and finally came up with an old film photo, taken in the Pacific Northwest. Is it still the same there, over 20 years later? What will it be like in another 20 years, after I’m gone. I wonder, and I worry. Apr22

Mama GHO and her three owlets, getting big and the nest is crowded now. I enjoy watching them grow. I have taken photos of this spot for many years. Only one year, after the male died, was the nest left empty. Apr13
