Wishing all of you a great 2020.

As I listen to fireworks starting tonight, I remember all the years I worked the evening shift at the County Hospital. I always worked New Year’s since we rarely went out that night and others wanted the night off. I’d get home just before midnight and run out to my horses in their stalls. They did not like New Year’s Eve and were very nervous – until I got out there and stayed with them, talking and brushing and maybe handing out a few bites of carrots.
I miss my horses. I always will. And tonight I’m thinking of all the times we spent together, traveling the trails around where I lived in NE Phoenix area, and in the hills and valleys in the state.
