Nesting Great Horned Owl

GHO BIRDS

Not the best photo, but all I could get today. I’m sure this is the female GHO, hunkered down in the “nest,” although these birds don’t make nests, but sitting on her eggs. Within about three weeks I should see babies at the three GHO sites I watch every year. She sits here and the male brings her food. Often the male is close-by but I didn’t see any males today at the nests I observed.

Blog Update

I have added a new page, Yosemite. I hope you will take a look. I’ll be gradually adding to this gallery and starting others, as I update this blog.

Thanks to all of you who follow my blog and for your kind comments.
