The Amazing Glasswing Butterfly – you can see right through its wings.

Arizona Sunrise

When I got up at sunrise a few days ago, I saw an orange-red glow before I opened the shutters. When I did open them, I grabbed my point and shoot camera and shot this sunrise. There has been NO saturation added. What you see here is what was in the sky. It was simply amazing. I got off about five shots, and then it was gone. I knew I wouldn’t have time to run back to the bedroom for a DSLR. A photographer friend of mine said when he got up he saw this through his shutters and thought there was a fire. He looked outside, but his camera was downstairs and he didn’t have time to get it.

A fleeting moment in time to always remember.

I don’t know the names of many butterflies, but I enjoy them, both to observe and photograph. I prefer those in the wild, rather than butterfly pavilions, so am always happy to see a beautiful one like this.
