Butterfly at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. I love taking photos of them, but am no expert in identifying them. Probably because of the powerful monsoon this year in AZ, there are many more butterflies than usual. Sep28
This young Black-crowned Night-Heron looked lonely at Glendale Recharge Ponds. It was the only one of its kind, on a cloudy day, just before the rain started. Sep27
At Glendale Ponds this morning, I watched this female Yellow-headed Blackbird (big crop and not the best shot) chase the Yellowlegs all over the place. Those Blackbirds are not common at these ponds and it was the only one there. It happened so fast I didn’t get them both in the same shot, but Yellowlegs got out of there fast Sep26
