On occasion I will post a shot that is not in the Nature category. This is the Grand Canyon steam engine train approaching a trestle on Sept 16th, 2017, the 116th anniversary of this run. While the train runs every day, usually a steam engine only runs on the first Saturday of the month, except during winter. There are also special occasions like today.



Copper mine near Vancouver, BC


This is definitely not nature photography of course, but this mine, now a museum, had many buildings above ground and this huge building had about 500 stairs, steep, not all shown here, leading up to the top. No one is allowed to climb these any more, but workers used to do this daily.

Many movies and documentaries have been made here and at the bottom right you can see a film crew working on a new movie.
