Landing in Basin 6 at Glendale Recharge Ponds. Snowy Egrets are definitely a favorite of mine

It was Egret day at Glendale Ponds this morning. Lots of Snowy’s and Great Egrets. Plenty of action when Snowy’s got together of course. Most all in Basin 6.

This is apparently a Bendire’s Thrasher, very similar to Curve-billed, and much less common.

Fires are raging near Yosemite. As climate change intensifies, we will lose some very special places. My memories of trips to this beautiful park are many, and I can only hope more homes are not lost in this big fire, known as the Washburn fire. I also hope the firefighters can save the giant Sequoias.

It can get crowded at Glendale Ponds. Water is starting to come in. Great Blue Heron and Great Egrets.
