Salmon Creek, Alaska, 2008. This mama Brown Bear is used to people and the rangers knew where to go. She had just caught a salmon, stripped and ate the eggs, then gave the rest to her twins, a girl and a boy. Telephoto shot of course – we did not go close. Mama is looking at some other bears, young males, keeping her eyes on them. Feb5
A two year old Alaska Brown Bear walked close to our group, curious, and sat and watched us. A memorable moment. Nov9
A Sow watches us carefully, her two cubs with her, and then moves on. We sit quietly in the boat, knowing that this is her territory, not ours. Jun29
