I’ve been to Bosque del Apache 6 times, and am looking forward to my 7th next winter. It is an amazing place. Apr1
One more photo of a Sandhill at Bosque in evening light. We saw this every evening. In years past we saw them in corn fields. Since corn requires a lot of water, a wheat product, Triticale, has been planted more than corn. The drought affects Bosque like it does the rest of us. From a Bosque website: Triticale needs to be only flash irrigated two to four times per year, and these irrigations can be easily met by groundwater wells, removing the reliance on irrigation tail-water deliveries. I think I have an addiction. I keep revisiting my Bosque photos from last month. The sights and sounds, the beauty of the sunrises and sunsets, I love remembering it and looking at the photos I took. Morning blast-offs like this one are always special. I’ve been 6 times over the years, and each time is unique and different. Jan15
