Least Bittern

Least Bittern 2012 BIRDS

From Cornell University’s “All About Birds”  –

“A tiny heron, furtive and surpassingly well camouflaged, the Least
Bittern is one of the most difficult North American marsh birds to spot.”

I was lucky to spot this unusual heron and snapped off a few shots before it flew away. While I have seen them before, they have always been hiding in the reeds and bushes.
